UltiMaker Factor 4 Plus Industrial 3D Printer

$22,500.00

UltiMaker Factor 4 Plus is an industrial 3D printer built for fast, traceable production in manufacturing and defense environments. It delivers up to twice the speed of the original Factor 4 through an improved gantry, Cheetah motion planning, and new AA+ and CC+ high-flow print cores.

  • Higher production speed: Produce parts up to twice as fast as the original Factor 4 while maintaining dimensional accuracy.
  • UltiMaker TRACE reporting: Monitor extrusion factor, nozzle temperature, chamber temperature, and build plate temperature throughout each print.
  • Advanced material capability: Work with more than 200 supported materials, including flexible polymers and carbon-fiber composites.
  • Controlled print environment: The actively heated chamber reaches 70 °C, while compatible print cores reach temperatures up to 340 °C.
  • Automated material handling: Six low-humidity spool bays support automatic loading and material switching for longer production jobs.

Description

UltiMaker Factor 4 Plus Industrial 3D Printer

UltiMaker designed the Factor 4 Plus for manufacturers, defense teams, and engineers who need faster production with repeatable results and clear print data. The system combines high-speed motion, direct dual extrusion, automatic material handling, controlled chamber heat, and UltiMaker TRACE reporting.

Compared with the standard Factor 4, Factor 4 Plus can print up to twice as fast. In addition, its improved gantry absorbs vibration at higher speeds. New AA+ and CC+ high-flow print cores also increase output across standard polymers and advanced composites. As a result, teams can produce jigs, fixtures, tools, replacement parts, prototypes, and selected end-use parts faster.

Why Choose the UltiMaker Factor 4 Plus?

  • Up to twice the speed of Factor 4: The Cheetah motion planner, improved gantry, and high-flow print cores help teams print faster while keeping parts accurate.
  • Ready for continuous industrial use: UltiMaker tested the upgraded gantry for 15,000 hours. It controls unwanted vibration during high-speed printing.
  • Part-level process visibility: UltiMaker TRACE continuously monitors extrusion factor, nozzle temperature, chamber temperature, and build plate temperature.
  • Direct dual extrusion: Print engineering polymers, flexible materials, composites, and soluble or breakaway supports with swappable print cores.
  • Controlled printing environment: The triple-insulated chamber actively controls temperatures up to 70 °C. Meanwhile, the heated build plate reaches up to 120 °C.
  • Automatic material handling: In addition, six spool bays preload and switch materials while keeping relative humidity below 15% under supported operating conditions.
  • Air filtration and safety: Finally, a replaceable HEPA H13 filter, enclosed chamber, door sensor, and prominent emergency stop button support professional work environments.

Higher Throughput Without Sacrificing Control

Factor 4 Plus offers more than a new name. First, UltiMaker redesigned the motion system for faster production. The Cheetah motion planner then creates smooth movement that limits sudden changes and vibration. Therefore, the printer can increase output while keeping parts accurate.

The printer also includes two AA+ 0.4 mm print cores and one CC+ 0.6 mm print core. These high-flow cores shorten print times with PLA, ABS, and abrasive carbon-fiber composites. In addition, swappable print cores simplify maintenance and make setup easier for different applications.

UltiMaker TRACE for Print Validation

For production teams, finishing a print is only part of the job. UltiMaker TRACE, the Technical Reporting and Certification Engine, records key process data throughout each build. It continuously analyzes four parameters that can affect part quality:

  • Extrusion factor
  • Nozzle temperature
  • Chamber temperature
  • Build plate temperature

After each job, TRACE creates a report that shows changes in material flow or temperature and where they happened in the model. As a result, teams can review part quality, document the process, and repeat jobs across printers and locations.

Advanced Materials for Real Production Applications

The UltiMaker Factor 4 Plus works with more than 200 materials through the UltiMaker ecosystem and Marketplace. In addition, its direct-drive system and swappable print cores handle common engineering plastics, flexible materials, and strong composites.

For example, material options include PLA, Tough PLA, PETG, ABS, Nylon, PC, CPE, CPE+, TPU 95A, PP, PET CF, and high-temperature PPS CF. The optional HT print core reaches 340 °C. Therefore, teams can print parts that need greater heat, chemical, or mechanical strength.

To compare options, explore materials for the UltiMaker Factor series, including UltiMaker PPS CF filament for high-temperature industrial applications.

Temperature and Material Control From Spool to Part

The fully enclosed, triple-insulated build area keeps heat even throughout the chamber. The chamber actively heats up to 70 °C, while the build plate reaches 120 °C. As the printer adds each layer, stable heat reduces stress and helps improve accuracy with heat-sensitive materials.

In addition, the material handling system keeps as many as six spools ready. It preloads material, switches spools when needed, and keeps storage dry. As a result, it protects moisture-sensitive filaments during long production runs.

Flexible PEI Build Plate and Integrated HEPA Filtration

The PEI-coated flexible steel build plate holds parts firmly during printing and makes removal easier. After the plate cools, operators can flex it to release parts with less scraping.

UltiMaker independently tested the replaceable HEPA H13 filter to remove up to 95% of ultrafine particles. In addition, the system tracks filter use and tells the operator when to replace it, typically after about 1,500 print hours.

UltiMaker Factor 4 Plus Applications

  • Manufacturing aids: Print jigs, fixtures, gauges, end-of-arm tools, and assembly aids.
  • Maintenance and repair: Produce replacement parts, guards, brackets, and special tools near the point of need.
  • Defense and field operations: Support distributed or temporary work sites with a rugged, self-contained system.
  • Product development: Create working prototypes and test parts with production-grade materials.
  • Low-volume production: Produce repeatable end-use parts while TRACE records key print data.
